Being Like a Butterfly
----For A tour to Ginkgo Haiyang in Yangsuo

I came to you not for your flourishing.
The much mud is just like the prehistoric era
which is flowing under my feet.
Before my birthday,
you are the doomed ancient species
that I cannot comprehend.

Forty hard year’s life
You are the fruits which I had a long missing in my heart field.
When grandfather planted you,
his grandsons will eat your fruits as one kind of Chinese madicine.
Does it have a good curative effect?
You are like a four-hundred-million-year’s old dragon
winding over there.
The Carboniferous Big Prosperous Age
has gone with the wind.

Everything has become a kind of gluttonous thing
including the rotten body left from the Giant Insect Age.
When you go through the Ice Age,
You could see the black creeping flame.
Oh! Ginkgo
In the deep dawn,
my eyes are sinking into your body and worship a tree,
I want to touch so poor a life of mine.

Please give the ancestors’ pair of shoes to me
and the moral courage to an evolution species
as a gift.
Even if I am drunk and dreamed to be a colorful butterfly,
my thought is like a butterfly Scattered into the mud
but my bone is never dry.
My heart will become your fruits
 as a bitter better medicine.

我並不是
因為你一樹繁華而
來。這漫天的泥濘
好像，在我
出生以前已經註定
古老的物種
是我無法領悟
那個時代的
洪荒流動

四十年濃夏苦寒
你是我愁雲間
密佈的一種結果
公種而孫得其藥
可有療效
四億年蛟龍
蒼黃盤桓
那個石炭紀的
大繁盛時代
一去不返

一切皆遭餮饕
包括巨蟲時代腐爛
的屍體。越過冰川
匍匐而來的黑色火焰
哦！銀杏
當我的眼睛沉入你
幽深的黎明
對一棵樹複履而拜
活得如此可憐

請賜予我
先祖的那一雙鞋，和
一個物種
進化的氣節
縱使，一醉而繽紛
思如黃蝶
零落成泥骨不枯
一寸丹心，結成白果
終是苦口良藥
